Arnst and Pearce met to-day and arranged to row for the Championship of the world and £500 aside on July Bth or the following Saturday, Pearce making a deposit of £500 to fix tho race. Pearce wanted Arnst to stick to his promise to row in ten weeks' time, but Arnst wanted more time to consult his supporters and prepare- for the contest. He promised to cable to his supporters, and would cover Pearce's deposit in a few days. They could then sign articles.
