LEESTON.

At the monthly meeting of the Leeston School Committee on Monday evening, the following members were present:—Revs. P. C. Durward (chairman) and T. A. Joughim (scretary), and Messrs Fisse, Pur6er, Donald, Millar, and Rodgers. The headmaster's report showed that two pupils were admitted during the month, while one left. The present roll was 118—53 hoys and 65 cirls. The average attendance was 99.7. Nine pupils were presented for proficiency certificates; seven gained proficiency certificates, one a competency certificate, while one failed to gain either. Three scholars had been presented for the Board of Education junior scholarship examination. It was decided that the Christmas holidays should begin on December 21st, the school to re-open on January 30th.
