USE OF THE LASH DESIRED. United Frees Aftoeiation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. PERTH, December 2. A deputation representing the Women's Christian Temperance Union asked the Premier to introduce legislation to make flogging compulsory in all cases of conviction for assault upon girls under the age of consent. The Premier stated that he was doubtful whether flogging would attain the end in view, but that the Cabinet would consider the matter.
