A body, supposed to be that of a foreign banker, has been found horribly mutilated. It is believed that tho victim was enticed to the house of a horse-dealer by the latter's mistress. Tho assassins shaved and slashed the face, destroying the identity of the murdered man. The body was put into a box by tho murderers, and taken in a -wheelbarrow through the populous part of Angers, where it was abandoned on the sudden approach of some soldiers. The men escaped, but a woman named Marguerite Maillud has been arrested.
