Tho wheat markets are very flat, largely owing to considerable weakness of the American and Continental markets and liberal offerings of Indian wheat. The European crop prospects being fairly favourable, there is no prospect of the markets improving unless there is serious damage to crops. There is little enquiry for cargoes. Some have sold at from 3_s 3d to 355, while 35s 3d is asked for South Australian and Victorian sailors, January. There is a small retail demand J'or Australian spot at about 395. NewZealand quality is disappointing at aliout 35s to 35s 6d. Flour is dull. Australian patents, London, 28s, Glasgow 295. _A -MayJuno shipment is offering at 27s landed Glasgow. The barley market is inactive, and Australian is practically unsaleable .-t from 21s to 225. Oats aro quiet. Gartons 20s to 20s Gd, Sparrow-bills 17s 9d, La Plata MayJune 13s 3d. The butter market is very quiet, and all prices are practically unchanged. The larger part of colonial arrivals is being stored. Cheese, New Zealand 565.
