LINWOOD v. SYDENHAM.

At Lancaster Park Linwood met Sydenham, and after having first use of the wickets totalled 118, and except for two splendid innings by Johnston and A. E. Ridley, who was still unbeaten at the finish; the innings would have been a gross failure. Bennett being in good fettle with the ball took six wickets for 44. Sydenham easily passed their opponents' total, Patrick butting.attractively for 50, and getting valuable assistance from Bruges. Scores:— LINWOOD. First Innings. A. Thomas, b Bennett .. ... ~ o. R.
