CANTERBURY COLLEGE v OTAGO UNIVERSITY.
The match between Canterbury Colleg© and Otago University was esumed yesterday morning in splendid weather, the wicket being in capital order. Mulgan failed to add to his bir; overnight score, and tho innings closed for 374. Contrary to gener.l expectation Otago University failed badly in their first innings, and chiefly owing to .accurate howling by Hudson the Tenture only realised 82. Following on, the first pair, Rutherford and M.~ Ongley, made a splendid start, and had the century iid without a separation being effected. Another good stand by Sim and Bannerman threatened to etave off defeat, but several lbw decisions, which were not relished by the batsmen, brought the innings to n close a quarter of an hour before closinc time, Canterbury College thus winning hy an innings and 78 runRutherford batted very soundly for his 86. bis scorine strokes all round being excellent.
