PLUCKY RESCUE WORK BY A BOY.

Tom Lewis, of Newport, aged fourteen, crawled through a small hole thirty feet below the surface, and worked in this, his head downwards, for two hours, sawing through a beam and Tβleasing a workman. The earth suddenly collapsed, and Lewis was hurriedly rescued, Vut the workman was killed. Another man was released by the amputation of both his tegs, but he died.
