CIVIL SERVICE RIFLES.
The i-ii)th annual mooting of tho Civil .Service Rifles was held in their orderly-room on Monday, Captain Pavitt in the chair. Licuts. Xicholis and Mathews and about' thirty mon were present. The bala.nee-_.Leet showed the funds of the corps to be in a vorv -health v position, the assets being £600 and "liabilities £200. Captain Pavitt, in reading the annual report, said he was pleased to 6ee the interest taken by the men in. drill and shooting. Corporal Everett having won tlie 2nd Battalion badge for the highest score in class-firing. During tho year a team went to Napier and won second prize for marching and third prize for riflo exercise. The annual smoke concert was fixed for May lOt.h. The election of officers was t.hon proceeded with, after which votes of thanks were accorded the chairman and past officebearers.
