A pic-rio acid bomb was discovered within a law-book sent to Mr Kingsford when he was Chief Magistrate at Calcutta. The rxi re-el -was so arranged that upon the string being cut a detonator of fulminate of mercury would explode tho bomb.
j Mr Kingsford, who was the object of tho MuzaffarnoT© explosion on May 2nd, did not open tho parcel, believing it to be a book he had lent to a friend. In the meantime the springs rusted and rendered tho explosives harmless. The bomb found at tho "Englishman" offioe waa obtained from a Government! factory.
