« EDOEWARE CLUB FORMED. A meeting of interested in tho formation of a bowling club in St. Albans Kast was held last evening, Mr E. Dent presiding over an attendance of about forty.
The provisional committee sot up to arrange for the selection of a green jvpnrted that a site on St. Albans park, .some forty feet from For far street, had been granted by the City Council. The of forming a green by contract •would be £134 Ms, exclusive of all extras. By day labour the cost, including fencing, ditching, drainage, a grass mswor and other necessary sundries, would be about £170.
It was decided to name the club the Edgcware Club, and the tolhiwing officers were appointed:—President, Mr G. Pay!ing j vice-presidents, Messrs W. H. Bowen, "W. E. Simes, T. Pent, P. Soancs, F. A. Cook and T. Maynard ; honorary treasurer, Mr C. Allard ;*honor;iry secretary, Mr George Brass; auditor, Mr E. D. Moeeley ; committee, Messrs J. "Willis, J. Colville. Monro, Dowen, Beauland, C. E. Otlcy and Chidgoy. The, annual subscription was fixed at £2 *2s, the first year's subscription being made payable by March 31st, 1909. The matter of arranging for the formation of the green was left in the hands of the committee. The attempt on the part of the Canterbury Centre of Zealand Bowiinr Association to revive interprovine.ini matches has been Miccessfiil. An eight rink match ha* been arran?ed with the Dunedin Centre, and the tfaxn leaves on Thursday next. They will play at Oamaru on Thursday en route to Dunediu, ar.d at Titnaru on their wav home.
