REPORTED DISCOVERY OF GOLD
LABOUR TROUBLES.
(BFF.CIAL TO "THK PRESS."} GREYMOUTH, April 23. News from Otira to-dtay is of more than passing interest. It has leaked out that gold has been discovered in the creelcs leading to Holt's creek, the sample being known a.-* 'dead ,gokl." Only a cursory examination has yet been made, but exports believe that payable deposits would be struck if syßtomatic prospecting were carried on.
It is rumoured that labour troubles havo appeared, it being stated that ten men, engaged on tlie H'.lt's Pre, k p:po lino left work owing to dissatisfaction with their wages. It is understood that their plnees havo been filled.
