Harry Wilson -was chargeu with, on • or about April 13th, at Lancaster Park, stealing a bicycle valued et £5, the property of Bell Bras. Mr Donnelly appeared for accused, who pleaded not guilty. Mr Donnelly stated that the defendant only ''planted" the bicycle a .few yards from the dressing-room m Lancaster Park, because Campion, had hidden hie bioyde jureviously. It was stated that plaintiff and defendant are in the position of landlord and tenant, and owing to the artesian well not being in good order, plaintiff went to repair it. Hβ stated that defendant walked round him like a "raging lion," and used threatening language. The Bench, after hearing Mr Donnelly, decided, to dismiss tho case without calling on the defendant. Yeo Long. Wong Sot, and Yee Fong were charged with working in their gardens on Sunday at Marshlands. Constables Andrews and Mcdinchey stated that the first-mentioned Chinaman was engaged in washing cucumber seed on April 19th, whilst Wong Set was hoeing potatoes, and.' Yee Fong picking tomatoes. Station-Sergeant Johnstone informed the Bench that tho cliarges were the result of numerous complaints, and tho Bench, as defendants to say in extenuation, fined Wong Set arid Yee Long 5s and costs, and Yee Fong, tho employer, had to pay dduble that amount. .
