METHVEN.
At tho Magistrate's Court on the 9th inst., before Messrs W. Morgan and H. frard, J.P's., on two charges of obscenity, John Hughes was sent. to gaol for six months. On the 10th inst.. before Messrs W. Morgan and A. Murray, J.P's., for interfering with an animal seieed for the purpose ot being impounded, J. Nee was fined 2CM and costs. In the civil case, W. T. Doak v. W. McClimont, judgment was given for plaintiff with costs.
