) A Cliristchurch company of juveniles j gave a concert in the Leeston Town . Hall on Thursday evening, in aid of the Nazareth House Orphanage, Ch;istchurch. Thero was .a fair attendance. Pianoforte duets were given by Misses N. and L. Dwyer, and Misses L. Dwyer and V. Barker, elances by Misses -V. and G. Barker, vocal items by Miss P. Clemens, J. Dwyer, H. iSmithson, and F. Wauchop. Tho programme concluded with the farce. "Borrowed Plumes," tbe characters being sustained by Misses P. Clemens and N. Dwyer, and Messrs J. Dwyer, F. Wauchop, and P. Cordon. Miss L. Dwyer was the I accompanist, and Mr J."Dwyer the stage manager. At the last meeting of the Lakeside School Committee, the headmaster re ported a roll number of 66 and an average of 53.7. The inspector's repor'. showed that the school bad made good progress during the year. Miss C 61oau resigned her position as mistres, owing to continued ill-health, and tii< resignation was accepted with regre. The chairman of tlie Leeston Schoo Committee wrote, asking the commit | tee to assist in forming a cadet corp in the district. It was decided to take no action in tbe matter. Accounts for £9 Os 9d were passed. Mr J. Harry Stephens, the singing evangelist, opened a revival mission in
