THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
By yesterday's mail! (says the Sydney "Referee," of October 2nd) the articles in the r«co for the world's sculling championship between Wm. Webb (holder) and Dick Tresidder (challenger) reached Sydney, having been forwarded to Mr R. Coombos, editor of "Tho Referee," by Mr W. S. Corby. Tho articlcsj which arc signed l>y Webb and witnessed by Mr W. 11. Tuck, of Wanganui, eet forth that the race is to bo decided on the Wanganui River during February, 1908, but the actual day ie yet to be decided upon. The race is to be for £'500 a-sido and the world's championship, over a course of 3J miles, Mr Cecil J. Wray is appointed referee, Mr T. D. Cummins judge, and Mr F. Webb Jones, editor of tho "Waiiganui Herald," Ktakeholder. Tiie second deposit of £2bO β-eido is due on November 12th next. The date for making the final deposit is not yet fixed. The articles Jmvo been forwarded to Mir Toon Bover, of Nowcaetlo, for Tresidder'e inspection ami signature.
