OBITUARY.
♦- (PBESa ASSOCIATION TKLEORAII.) NAPIER, October 1. Mr E. P. A. Platform, who was for many years accountant for Messrs Wileon and Cottrill, eolicitors, and was latterly in business as land agent and eharebroker, and who was secretary to the School Commissioners and various trusts, died to-day after a lingering illness. Hβ was a prominent bowler. The death occurred in Napier on Wednesday, at the age of 77 year*, of Mr P. J. Ryan, formerly of Kanieri, Ho came to New Zealand at the tirao of tho rush to the Dunetan goldfield, in Otago. Shortly afterwards he went to the West Coast, arriving in Hokitika at the beginning of the rush there. Tho late $lr Ryan, who resided at Kanieri up to a few years ago, was much reepectod. He leaves a family of four daughters to mourn their loss— Mrs Thomas Hood, of Palmorston North, Mrs Frank Moeller, of Napier, Mrs George Ayres, of Palniereton North, and Mrs David Craig, of Wang«nui.
