Tho "Daily Mail's" Durban correspondent states" that Captain Macfarlane, of tho Transvaal Horse, who was reported to have boon shot in the operations against the Natal rebels some months ago. was accidentally killed dv a bullet fired by a colonial on the other side of the gorge which separated tnem.
Lieutenant Marsden, of Royston's Horse, who was mortally wounded on the same occasion, was shot in a mist, being mistaken for a rebel in the swinidarkness.
