The Durham Street Band of Hopo Competition, which was to have bs<<n held at 7.30 to-night, has been postponed until to-morrow night.
An entertainment in aid of the Church Lighting Fund will be given in the Avon-side-schoolroom to-night. A military and athletic carnival will Mc held in "the Kirng Edward Barracks on September 18. Entries clc3o at 8 p.m. on Saturday next. Tho annual ball of the Caledonian Society will be held on the 28th inst.
