MUSICAL UNION CONCERT.

Owing to the alterations m oonaebtion with Canterbury Hall not berng complete, the second concert of the season will be given by the Musical Union in the Choral Hall on, Wednesday and Thursday next yreek, -when an orchestral programme will be produced. Thie will include Haydn's "Symphony No. 8," Sullivan's overture "In Memoliam,'* Elgar's "Imperial March" end "Canto Populare," and three dances from "Nell Gwynne." Herr Kahn., the leader of the orchestra, will play two violin solos, including one movement from Mendelssohn's "Concerto ia E Minor," and Lachez's "Tziganes Dance." The vocalists will be Mies Cicely Gardner and Mr A. H. Medihurst. The former will sing "Egyptian Lullaby" (Amy Woodford-Finden) and "The Breeze and the Soarf" (Teresa Del Keigo). The latter will give "The Courier of Moscow" (Rodney). The third OOTMjort of t?ie season -will be given next month in His Majesty's Theatre, when the oratorio ''St. Paul" will be produced. The Society will then put in rehearsal the Exhibition Ode, which « to be given at the opening ceremony under the direction of the composer, Mr Alfred Hill. At the special wish, of Mr Thomas Garrard, who ia retarding from tile position of honorary secretary of the Musical Union after sixteen years' work in the cause of good music, "The Messiah" will be produced before Christinas as the final concert of the season, and the last under bis management.
