THE AMERICAN NAVY.
SURPASSING THE DREADNOUGHT. NEW YORK, May 18. Tho House of Representatives at Washington hae voted £2,000,000 for a battleship to surpass tho Dreadnought in fighting power. [This decision is largely owing to the advice of Admiral Dewey, who has strongly urged America to follow the example of Great Britain in the Dreadnought. His arguiiK-mt is that Great Britain has cksely followed the kssous of the recent war, and that therefore she is certain to ba right. It has been projx)sed that this new battleship should l>o propelled by turbines.]
