Mr Seddon being dissatisfied with the replies roceived from the Union Company «nd the Huddart Parker Company, in reference to the employment of largo steamers at reduced fares during the time of the New Zealand International inhibition, has communicated with other companies, such as the P. and O. and Orient, and the North GerI man' Lloyd, on (ho subject. Ho has I also communicated witli Sir Jcseph I Ward and Mr Reeves on the. matter. I In case those companies are not pre- ' pared to undertake the work, Mr Seddon is making enquiries with regard to Iho chartering of vessels. He has had i an offer from a well-known London ehip--1 ping firm, the agint of which is at pre- ' sent in Sydney. The. firm has signified that it is quite prepared to undertake the work on a small percentage, or a fixed annual chargo.
