SOUTH ISLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

Tlie South Island Rifle Association's meeting was continued at Redcuffs yesterday. Private Gee (Linwood Rifles) won the Champion Belt, the golot medal, and £3 3s for highest aggregate, Luttrell Brce.' Cup for tho best average in the Southland and West Coast matches, and Lieut. Smith's cup for the h-ghest aggregate in tho Canterbury and Otago matches. Captain Batchelor wor tho Stewart Dawson Cup for tbe higficot 6core in the Champion match. Trumpeter Nicholas, aged 16, was winner of the Stead Cup for the highest aggregate made by a competitor under 21 years of age. Our report of the detailed scores is of necessity held over. The annual meeting of the Association was held on the range at noon yesterday. Captain H. Batchelor presided. The chairman said that it devolved on the . meeting to say where the meeting was to .ba held next year. After a short discussion it was decided to hold the meeting mt Christchurch. The chairman suggested that the various districts should have local representatives on the council. Most of the work had to be done in Christchurch, and now that the meeting was to bo held here he thought it would be advisable. The suggestion met with tho approval of those present, and the following were appointed representatives:—Southland, Private Gee and Private T. Jack; Otago, Captain Meddings and Lieutenant King; South Canterbury, Sergeant-Major Evans and Corporal Lester; North Canterbury, Captain Batchelor and Captain Bishop; Peninsula, Rifleman Robinson; West Coast, Lieutenant Edingor; Nelson,
