MRS SKEVINGTON
Mrs Skevington, wife of Mr Oharle* Skevington, senior, of Waikuku, wher* she was well known and greatly re 6pected, died thero on Wednesday at th« ago of 76. Mr and Mrs Skevingtor were amoug the early 6cttlers, arrivinj by the ship Zealandia, and they walked with two of their children, from Christ, church to tho farm at Waikuku, anc pitched a tent near where tho home stead now stands. The country at tha*. period was very rough, and at Woodend there was heavy bush. (PEXSS ASSOCIATION TXLXQBAH.) MR JAS. MUIR. BLENHEIM, March 2. Mr Jas. Muir, manager of the Blenheim municipal gasworks, and borougl engineer, aged 48. is dead. He liac held thceo positions for twenty years.
