WAINONI PARK.
There has been another busy week at Wainoni. The Gasworks picnio was represented by some 150 visitors, and St. John's and St. Matthew's, school treats were each largely .attended, so that including •ordinary vjsitora. considerably over 600 persons were present. Several large picnics are arranged for to-day. A number of improvements and additions have been made during the week. The new fernery for todea superba has been finished, and Mr Bert Bickerton has been to the West Ccast and brought tack a magnificent collection) of this cfape-like plant, which is generally admitted to bo the mest beautiful fern in existence. .This fern-house will be thrown open to the public to-day. On Tuesday evening a gymnastic display was given. On Wednesday at the firework disnlay a number of novelties were exhibited, and on Thursday, after the conoert, Professor Bickerton gave a series of sensational experiments in fire and flame. These, with others, are to b9 repeated on Tuesday evening next, when a gymnastic display will also be given.
