A representative meeting of Scotsmen in London instituted! a movement for a London Memorial to the late Sir Hector Macdonald, and passed a vote of thanks to the French nation and Press for their sympathy on the occasion of the late General's death. They further demanded an inquiry into Sir J. West Ridgeway's "inconsiderate speech" in reference to General Mocdonald in the Ceylon Legislative Council.
