SERVICE FOR CHILDREN.

At the service for Sunday-school children in the afternoon, the Canterbury Hall was packed with an audience \which Mr Torrey described as about the brightest-looking lot of children he had met. Mr Alexander made himself at home with both boys and girls from the start, by stating that he knew just what they wanted,-as he used to be a little boy himself, and then, seriously, as though by an afterthought, that he never was a little girl. After this commencement he was able to entertain them for some time with solos and services, calling upon them, at every interval, to sing, "A little talk with Jesus." Then he asked them a number of texts, and the red "Glory Songs" were distributed liberally among the children, who recited the verses of Scripture correctly. . Dr. Torrey enlightened his audience pleasantly on the subject of "What a child can do," and related several anecdotes. Teachers were present in fairly round numbers with the children, and the best of order prevailed throughout the meeting.
