NEW ZEALAND AND THE FEDERAL ROUTE.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. , . (Received Octobere 22n4, 10 &.m.) MELBOURNE, October 22. The Federal Government has received a letter from Mr Seddon, enquiring -whether in tihe event of New Zealand failing to arrange with. Mr Spreckde, the Commonwealth would be willing to despatch New Zealand - mails by the Suez route, provided a contribution was made, for the services rendered. It is understood that tihe Commonwealth would be agreefeble to meet New Zealand's wishes.
