Lord Rosebery, at a meeting of the Wolverhampton Chamber of Commerce, discussed the question of commercial contests of the twentieth century. Hβ said our commercial classes required educating scientifically from top to bottom, in order that they may fairly compete with the commercial classes of Germany, Japan, and America. Hβ urged that every Chamber should appoint travelling trade scholarships. (Received January 18th, 11.9 p.m.) LONDON, January 18. Mr Chamberlain urged the Birmingham University to develop a Receareh Institute and Faculty of Commerce. He insisted that Britain's existence aH a great trading indiistrial nation depended on the thorough scientific treatment of commercial education.
