A grand pansy. Perfection, raised from seed of Messrs Sutton and Sons has been grown by Mr Chas. Deal, of Halswell. The flower in three inches across, and beautifully proportioned. Altogether it is a very fine specimen.

The annual meeting of the Working Men's Co-operative Building Society will be held this evening at the offices of* the society. A speciull meeting of the members of the Licensed Victuallers' Association will be hold this afternoon, at three o'clock, in Hobbs's Buildings. A meeting of tbe Pride of Christehurch Tent, 1.0. R., will take pflaoe this evening.

A national concert will be gmn in the Choral Hall to-morrow evening under the auspices of the Natives' Association. Tbe programme includes items by Misses Graham, iL. Smith, and Bonndngton, Messrs Izard, March, Bell, Hockley, and Winter Hall. In addition there will bs songs, bakas, and poi danoes, by specially trained Maoris from Raupaki. A special meeting df the City Council takes place this evening to consider matters with reference to the opening out of the Greeford estate. The ordinary meetings of the Sydenham and St. AJhafim Councils wfll also "be 'held to-night. At a meeting of ladies ihedd ait the Kaiapoi Council Chamber on Saturday, arrangements were made for the Fire Brigade bazaar, and collecting materials and produce for the same.
