CRICKET.
Kowai played Cust at Sefton on Saturday, when tne former won by 97 runs. Scores: — Kowai, 146 (Vailance 55, Marsh 44, Thomas 13), and Cust 49. For Kowai Thomson and Valiance, and for Cust Higginbotham, bowled well. A match played in the Springfield Domain between Springfield and the Mioland Railway Club, on Saturday, was won "by Springfield by 8 runs. A cricket match has been arranged for today, between teams selected by Mr A. E. €r. Rhodes, patron to the Belfast Cricket Club, and Mr Nicholls, president of the same club.. The match will be played at Belfast, mx Rhodes's'team being composed of Christchurch gentlemen interested in the live stock business, while their .opponents will consist of members of the Belfast Cricket Club.
