CHRISTCHURCH v THE NOMADS.

A return match was played between <.th* Christchurch and Nomad teams, wliich were the same as on Saturday, with the exception that Mr A. E. G. Rhodes took Mr G. Gould's place in the Christcnurch team. The attendance was not large, the drizzling rain which fell deterring many Iran being present. Indeed the ~uei-noon was altogether unfavourable, and tne ground rendered id places slippery, and for the most part Blow, . besides which the balls used were soon too . dirty to be well -seen, and too heavy to be driven. As a result, such brilliant play as j tnat in the game on Saturday was little in . evidence. Crossing, off side play, and foul? ' were more frequent, and broken .ticks-'tind a couple of accidents from collisions occurred, but none of the players or their ponies were hurt.. The Nomads scored 8 'goals, Christ- . .church 5. For ,T,he Nomads Mr; J. Strang t .secured 4 gouis, 4 M_ W. Strang 2, and Messrs }, Baker aud A. Strang 1 each. For Christ- -7 church Messrs Woodroite and Clark scored • 2 each, and Mr R. H. Rhodes 1. Messr* E. D. O'Rorke and Lloyd acted as umpires, and Mr G. Gould as timekeeper.
