THE GEOGRAPHY OF AUSTRALASIA.
An instance of the ignorance displayed by many English peoplo regarding the Australasian colonies has been brought under the notice of the "Sydney Daily Telegraph." A gentleman residing in Sydney, and acting as agent in Australia for several large Eng lish firms of manufacturers, was about to take a trip to Tasmania, combining business with a holiday, and before leaving ho advised his firms of his intended visit to that colony. The following is the reply that he received from one of them, one" of the largest firms of manufacturers in England : —" Tasmania—You should not visit this market on our account,'as we are already represented in New Zealand, and do not wish to interfere in any way with our agent in Christchurch."
