VICTORIAN TRADE.

The trade of Victoria last year forms the subject of a report to the Secretary of Trade and Customs by the statist of the department. Taking the imports first, it appears that they exceed those of the previous year in value by £1,314,422 —the totals for the two years being respectively £16,768,184 and £15,454,482- Last year the value of the gold bullion imported was £2,617,434, of gold specie £7559, and of other imports £14,143,911. The increase in the imports is accompanied by a corresponding increase in the Customs revenue, amounting to £182,222.
