RICHMOND CLUB,

The Richmond Amateur Swimming Club held their first 50 yards handicap race of the season last evening. Great credit is due to the handicapper, Mr L. D. Armitage, for the excellent finishes he obtained. Messrs Hilson and A. E. Wilson acted as judges and Mr Annitage as starter. The following are the result-: —

At Lancaster Park yesterday the following events were decidod: —

50 Yards (Senior) Handicap—First heat: R. Hardy, , Usee, 1; M. McDowall, ssec, 2. Time, 44sec. Second .heat: N. McDowall, Ssec, 1; J. Jameson, lsec, 2. Time, 41sec. Final heat: R. Hardy,Usee. 1; N. McDowall, 3sec, 2. Jameson and M. McDowall also started. Time, 44 2-sth sec.

50 Yards Junior Handicap—J.,McTavish, 2sec, 1; R. Dochexty, scr, 2. - Time," 40 4-sth sec. Won easily by about 3yds. Five others also started. .•■-■-■ •

A meeting of the Executive of the New Zealand Swimming Association was held at the Clarendon Hotel last night. Mr Francis was unanimously elected permanent chairman. Mr J: F. Pullen wrote donating the amount of petty expenses mcurred by him as Consul at Wellington, to the Association funds. A permit was granted for the opening sports at the Addington bath, the Executive giving the fee, 10s 6d, as a third prize in the Tnter-Club Handicap. The Secretary was instructed to order the standard cap and badge for Mr H. R. Rich, who broke the New Zealand standard at Wanganui. The opening -sports of the Broadfields* Swimming Club were held yesterday afternoon. A large" contingent of members of the town clubs were present. The results of the races were:—- *
