United Press Association—By Eleotrio Teleerraph— Copjritfht. Received June 9th, 9.45 iud. THE WEENEN CUSTOMS FRAUDS. Melbourne, June 8. In the Weenen customs frauds cases, five of the accused were convicted. Weenen was sentenced to one year's imprisonment and fined £500, and four employees received sentences ranging from one to four months. THE INFLUX OF HINDOOS. Sydney, June 9. For some time there has been a largely increasing influx of Hindoos, and the Premiers contemplate combined action to stop it. Sir G. Turner has already requested the Imperial authorities to check it as far as possible pending the passing of restrictive legislation. Received June Sth, 1.15 a.m. LIBEL ACTION. Melbourne, June 9. In the libel action McOaughan versus the "Argus," claim £5000 damages for a description of plaintiff's appearance at a fancy dress ball at the Government House, a verdict was given for the plaintiff for £5 and costs.
