ASSESSMENT COURTS.
At the sitting of the Assessment Court at Timaru on Saturday, G. Talbot, Kingsdown, objected tc tlie assessment of 1_56 acres at £12 an acre. There was no reduction. F. W. Marchant—£ls7s for five acres, Wai-iti, imiprovenients £1200, reduced to £900 , Claremont, 181 acres at £10 a-OtrerfWuced by'._l; J. Barclay, 208 acres, reduced from £8 to £7; A. U. Pringle, Claremont, reduced from £6615 to £5358. Ihe objector still demurred, Mr Prmgle saying he would call upon the Government to reduce t'uo valuation or take his property ovu-.
