In consequence of tho wet weather and the little prospect of it clearing up by three o'clock, the Postponement Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union met at noon on Saturday and postponed all matches set down for the afternoon. As far as possible the order arranged for to-day will be followed next I Saturday. The Schools' tournament was to have been inaugurated on Saturday, but on account of the wet has been postponed. [ Weather permitting, it will be opened next j- Saturday. A telegram received from Wei-, I lington stated that the matches to be held there had to be postponed on account of the wet weather. .■"-''.. ■ , - I The Marist Bros. School met and defeated the third team of the Walthaia School I on Saturday by 30 points to nothing. In view of the game with the Dunedin ,« b Pirates to-morrow afternoon at Lancaster ._. Park, the Christchurch Club held a practice game on the North Park on Saturday. The visiting team arrived from Dunedin "by the express on Saturday, and are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. The second ground on the Park will be used for the match between ft picked team from clubs in the-CR.U. senior competition and a fifteen from the mere Association's clubs. Both game. _tart at half-past two o'clock. Afternoon tea will be provided free, and the Tijamway Company will run special trains from 8 o'clock. The team to represent Canterbury will be—Full-back, D.
