AQUATICS.
CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB.
The last of the Canterbury Bowing Club's races for this season took place on Saturday afternoon and were attended by a large number of rowing enthusiasts, including many ladies. The ladies who kindly undertook to dispense tea in the social hall were kepfc very busy attending to the visitors. The racing results recorded are :— Scratch Fours—P. R. De Veaux str, F. A. Pyne 3, H. Appleby 2 and T. W. Poster bow beat H. Ayers str, C. T. Brown 3, T. E. Hardy-Johnston 2 and K. Warren Fisher bow. Second heat—A. S. HardyJohnston sfcr, S. G. Styche 3, D. Mcßean Stewart 2 and F. Poulton bow beat F. W. Dunnage str, F. E. Wright, jun., 3, C. A. B. Pyne 2 and R. Appleby bow. Third heat—W. G. Wray str, T. L. Cowlishaw 3, M. A. Powrie 2 and A. Cracroft Wilson bow beat A. L. Smith str, J. Fuller 3, C. M. Lewin 2 and J. R. Evans bow. Second round — Hardy Johnston's crew beat; Dβ Veaux's and also won the final by beating Wray's crew.
Double Sculls —First heat —F. W. Dunnage str and T. G. Styche beat T. L. Cowlishaw str and Clarence F. Turner. Second heat—W. G. Wray str and M. A. Powne were defeated by N. L. Macbeth str and C. T. Brown, who won the final by; beating Dunnage and Styche.
Messrs A. S. Hardy-Johnston and H. Ayers leave by to-day's express to compete at the championship regatta on the 25th inst. at Dunedin. Messrs F. I. Cowlishaw, T. L. Cowlishaw, A. IT. Styche, F. E. Wright, junr., and J. Y. Daly follow by Wednesday's express. ,
(PBBSS ASSOCIATION TKLEGBAM.) WELLINGTON, March 21. The Managing Committee of the New Zealand Bowing Association, at a special meeting to-day, instructed the Secretary to refuse to accept the amendment of the rules proposed by the Dunedin Boating Club in reference to Wright's case, on the ground that proper notice must be given.
