EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL RACES.
The annual swimming races of East Chrisbchurch school were held in the school bath yesterday afternoon. All the* events were closely contested and were got off with punctuality by Mews Scotb and Owen. The following are bhe results: — Championship of School, 100 Yards—F. Drake 1, McTavish 2. Learners' Race (handicap)— First heat— Winstone, 3sec, 1 ; Adams, 3sec, 2; Irwin, 3sec, 3. Second heat—Murphy, ficr, 1; Anderson, 1 sec, 2; Smith, 4sec, 3. Final— A. Winstone 1, Adams 2. Handicap, two lengths (under thirteen) — First heat—Wacbsmann, 2sec, 1; Couzens, scr, 2; Smith, 15sec, 3. Second heat— Marshall, 6sec, 1; Dongal, 6sec, 2 ; Adams, lOsec, 3. Final—Wachsmann 1, Couzens 2, Smith 3. Handicap, two lengths (over thirteen) — First heat—Drake, scr, 1; McTavish, ssec, 2. Second heat—Sims, 6sec, 1; Jenkins, 6sec, 2. Third heat—Tomline, Csec, 1; Hulme, 7sec, 2. Final—Drake 1, McTavish 2, Tomline 3. Handicap, four lengths—Drake, scr, 1; Hulme, 15sec, 2. Neatest Dive -Drake 1, FitzHenry 2. Plunge—Hulme 1, FitzHenry 2, Murphy 3. Long Dive—Murphy 1, Gray 2, FitzHenry 3.
