CANTERBURY AMATEUR CLUB'S MEETING.
The first annual swimming meeting of the Canterbury Amateur Swimming Club was held in Kent's baths (the baths of the club) last night. There was a very large attendance, and the racing throughout was excellent, the finishes in nearly every event being very close. The principal attraction of the evening was an invitation 220 yards race between Rich, of Lyttelton, and A. B. Tr_Kc?Lt, of Richmond, won by the latter. The officials worked hard and helped in no small measure to make the meeting a success. Special praise must be given to the energetic secretary, Mr Geo. Milne. Following are the results : —
