LYTTELTON CRICKET CLUB.
The annual general meeting of members of this Club was held in the Colonists' Hall on Wednesday evening. The chair was occupied by Mr G. Laurenson, President, and there was a good attendance of members. The Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr E. U. Jiiet, read the balance sheet. The receipts had been £21 2s 6d and the expenditure £20 14s 4d. In view of the faot that last year was the first of the Club'tt existence, the financial position was considered very satisfactory. The following officers were elected :—President, Mr S. R. Webb ; Vice-Presidents, his Worship the Mayor, Mr A. Chalmers, Messrs W. Owen, E. F. Stinson and S. W. Mitchell; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr E. U. Just; Committee, Messrs D. Mahar, T. Herd, R. Wylie, E. J. Seymour and J. McGregor. Ten new members were elected. It was decided to enter a team for the President's Cup. The ground was reported to be in good condition. It would be ready for playing on almost immediately. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr T. Murphy for the valuable services he had rendered the Club last season. It was decided to play the opening match on Thursday next, and to invite his Worship the Mayor and Borough Councillors to join in the game. A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring officers, special mention being made of the Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Just. The meeting then terminated.
