TWO HORSES KILLED.

AUCKLAND, September 16. Early this morning the New Zealand Oup candidate Lady Anna and the pony Sweet Lavender were killed ou Lake Takapuna beach. They were galloped on the beach the opposite way, each 'having horses associated with them. The heads of Lady Anna aud Sweet Lavender came together, and the force of the collision caused both to rear over and fall dead. The jockey, Waldron, who was riding L>vdy Anna, had his left leg broken, while McEwan, the rider of Sweet Lnvender, got a severe scalp wound, which had to be stitched, but no bones were broken, and he was subsequently removed to the Auckland Hospital.
