In the Council on the Commonwealth Bill, an amendment was adopted fixing Sydney as the Federal Capital.
The Government; has arranged an extensive round of festivities for the Federal delegates.
Adelaide, Augunt 26.
The Legislative Assembly, after an all-night sitting, finished the Federal Bill with amendments of only a ininor character. The efforts of the Labour party to wreck the measure by striking the Senate out o<: existence were defeated by large majorities. A feature of. the debate has been the bitter opposition of the JJabour party to the whole Bill. Their persistent stonewall was only broken down after several all-night sittings and by their physical exhaustion.
Pkrth, August 26. Arrangements have been made for the West Australia delegates to reach Sydney in time for the opening of the Federal Convention.
