Preee Association -By T«l«trtaph—Copyright. Lokdon, August 25
Presideut Kruger, replying in regard to Mr Chamberlain's claims for Great Britain's suzerainty, states that he desires to maintain the 1884 Convention, which contained no single word bearing precisely on the question of the suzerainty of the Transvaal. He would not recognise the suzerainty because it was entirely opposed to the Convention.
