The following letter from Mr Walter Guthrie appears in Friday's Southland Nina : —ln yonr issue of yesterday yon state that in the matter of Walter <iuthrie and Co., Limited:—" The decision is against the unsecured creditors, who will not receive payment of their claims until the debentureholders are paid iv fulL" Permit mc to
explain that the decision has released the whole of the stocks, book debts, and movable chattels of the three guaranteeing companies—viz., the Now Zealand Pine Company, the Colonial Hardware Company, and the Southland Farmers' Implement Company, so that creditors in the above Companies rank in equal proportion with the debenture-holdersso far as* these assets are concerned. The debts due to open creditors in all Companies, however, are very light, and lam hopeful that the debenture holders wdll agree to pay open creditors in full in all Companies. The debenture holders as ated with mc are willing for all just claims to be paid in fall, and the liquidator has plenty of funds in hand.
