PRESIDENT'S CUP MATCHES.
The match Midland A v United was commenced at Hagley Park on Saturday, wheu the former gained a strong lead. Scores :—United 85 (Martin 40 and Cardale" 18). Midland 188 for eight wickets (Barge 59, R. Barry 52, W. Ashby 36, and WinStanley 11 not out). M. Woodward bowled well for the Midland and Gresson for the United. Midland B v Sydenham B. In this match, which was commenced at Sydenham on Saturday, the Midland had a bit the beat of the day's play. Scores:— Sydenham 49 (G. Halley 22), and 54 for eight wickets (Jacobs 23 not out). Midland 69 (Wilder 32 not out, and Hebden 13). Buchanan bowled well for the Midland and Coombs for Sydenham. The match between Sydenham and Addington United C.C. President's Cup C team v Christ's College Second was won by the former by default.' The Lancaster Park B team defeated the same Club's C team on Saturday by an innings and 37 runs. The scores were:—C team 32 (Turton 10) and 39 (K. Pavitt 11), and B team 108 (J. O'Brien 29, Mitchell 28, and A. Wilding 21 not out). Mitchell, Daniels and Lightband bowled best for the winners, and Bates (six wickets) and Delamaine for the losers.
