JUNIOR CUP MATCHES.

The Lancaster Park and United teams commenced a match at Hagley Park on Saturday, and although the former batted two men short, they gained a decided advantage in the first innings. Scores— Lancaster Park 142 (Quinn 49, Jack man 34, Hawkins 24 and Bromley 17); United 80 (Jamieson 27, G. Reeves 21 and V. Harman 11, not out). Bates and Mason bowled well for the Park, and Blunden and Day were the most successful trundlers for the United. The St. Albans and Boys' High School Clubs began a match at Hagley Park on Saturday, and when stumps were drawn the scores were—High School 38 (O'Brien 14 and Milsom 11) and 92 for three wickets (13. Harper 31, not out, O'Brien 30 and Goodman 21); St. Albans 75 (J. D. Culville 21, J. Smith 12, Hardie 12, not out, and Ritchie 11). Chapman and Frith bowled well for St. Albans and Russell and O'Brien for the School. In the match Post and Telegraph v Sydenham and Addington the latter have a slight advantage on the first innings. The Post and Telegraph, going in first, made 120 (Larcombe 30, Treweek 30, King 14, and W. Mansell 13). At the call of time Sydenham and Addington had knocked up 118 for seven wickets (Gudsell not out 35, W. Robson 26, West not out 18, and Caygill 13). Wright bowled best for Sydenham and Addington, taking six wickets for 35. The match Christ's College v United was finished last Tuesday, the College winning by 39 runs (137 and 186), United 101 and 183. The United played a good uphill game in the second innings, Maxwell 20, Reeves 21, Webster 13, Jameson 61, Aitken 18, and P. Wood 17 not out, all batting well. For the College Louisson and Lindsay bowled best.
