LYTTELTON.
The annual installation of the Mayor for the Borough of Lyttelton (Mr.A. Chalmers) took place in the Council Chambers at 7.30 o'clock on Thursday evening. After the formal part of the proceedings were completed, the members of the Council, at the invitation of the Mayor, partook of light refreshments. A number of toasts were honoured, songs sung, and recitations given. Votes. of thanks were recorded to the retiring Mayor (Mr J. Stinson), the Council's officers, &c, and the proceedings terminated.
