WAIROA, February 18. There was a large attendance and glorious weather. The new course wad universally commented upon as being in first-rate order. In the Hack Hurdles fourteen started. One fell at the first hurdle ; the jockey waa kioked on the head by another horse and had his left thigh broken. The following are the results .-—Handicap Hurdle Race of 35 soys ; two miles—Lignite 1, Hard Times 2, Disturbance 3. Won easily. Dividend £13 6s. Hack Hurdle Race of 15 soys ; one mile and a half—Miss Bevan 1, Velocity 2, Cynosure 3. Won easily. Time, 3min lsec. Dividend £310s. County Stakes, of 80 soys ; one mile and a half—Allan-a-dale 6at 71b, 1; King Cannibal, 7st 131b, 2; Free Lance, 7st 91b, 3. Good finish, won by half a length. A neck between second and third. Time, 2min 44 3-sth sec. Dividend, £4 4s. Maiden Plate, of 20 soys, w.f.a. ; one mile and a quarter— Waitangi 1, Haromi 2, Harry 3. Won easily. Dividend, £1 16s. Awatere Slakes, of 35 soys ; six furlongs—AUan-a-dale 1, Farella 2, Heavenly Twin 5. A great race. Won by half a head. Dividend. £3 ss. Back Flat, of 20 soys ; one mile—Bulldog 1, Kerry Lass 2, Blackberry 3. Won easily. Time, lmin 50sec. Dividend, £1 10s. District Plate, of 25 soys; one mile and a quarter—Mat 1, Sandfly 2, Unfortunate 3. Dividend, £23 18s.
